Chattanooga attorney John Wolfe finished third out of five contenders in the Democratic primary in Missouri on Tuesday, and he is shooting for a write-victory over President Barack Obama in Hamilton County during the Tennessee presidential preference voting on March 6.
He said, “This is an opportunity to send a message to the White House that the Obama administration is on the wrong path. Obama has not lost a county in any state yet. If we can win in Hamilton County, it would get national attention.
”
Attorney Wolfe got on the ballot in New Hampshire and Missouri, but he started too late to qualify in Tennessee and other states. But he is approved as a write-in candidate in his home state.
He has been traveling the country by highway, saying he is “a little afraid of flying.”
In New Hampshire he bought three newspaper ads, but just garnered 246 votes.
He got more votes in Missouri without advertising.
Attorney Wolfe said he fell out with Obama on multiple fronts. He said, ”Basically, he’s not been a populist. He’s getting all this campaign money from bankers and stockbrokers. He bailed out Wall Street, but we didn’t get anything in return."
He said President Obama “is spending more on the military though we have pulled out of Iraq.
“He has put more whistleblowers in jail than any other President.”
Attorney Wolfe said he is optimistic on his chances of toppling President Obama in Hamilton County. He said, “We don’t have electronic voting so it’s easy to write in a candidate’s name.”
