A man arrested for a robbery in Daytona Beach, Fla., has been charged with a holdup in Chattanooga on June 12, 2011, in which the robber was wearing a tie.
William Carrington Moss, 24, of 3806 Jill St., Cleveland, Tn., is charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the holdup of the Quality Inn on Parker Lane.
Police said a white male was armed with a small black semi-automatic hangun. He was wearing a long sleeve white shirt, a tie, sunglasses, gloves, a ball cap and khaki pants. He took money and fled the scene.
A man with that exact description carried out another robbery approximately an hour earlier.
Det. Mike Fowler of the Daytona Beach Police Department located a Crime Stoppers report on the Internet and compared the video to Moss.
City police were told that a small black .25 caliber semi-automatic was found in his vehicle. Other items located in the car were gloves, sunglasses and a tie possibly matching the one worn in the Chattanooga robbery.
