Joygenay Talley, 79, died on February 8, 2012 at her residence.  

She was a longtime member of Galilee Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir, women's ministry and mother board. She was born on July 13, 1932 to the late Doc Gardner and Melba Egerston-Gardner.  

Also preceding her in death were her husband of 39 years, Seymour Talley; daughter and son-in-law Vera and Larry Morris.   

She is survived by her children, Twanda (Robert) Walker, Melba (Jacques) Mack, Cliftina (Darryl) Jacks, Lorie (Michael) White and James Anthony Talley; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; stepchildreen, Sandra Sims and William (Deborah) Hudgins.   

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 14, at Galilee Baptist Church located at 2000 Jackson Street, Pastor Eddie Jacks, officiant, and Pastor Darryl Jacks, eulogist.  

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, February 13, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
