The Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church Music Ministry will present "I Got Rhythm", with pianist Jason DuRoy in concert, Friday March 23, at 7 p.m., in a program celebrating the tradition of the piano transcription.

Come tap your feet to Earl Wild's Virtuoso Etudes on Gershwin's I Got Rhythm and Oh Lady Be Good. Waltz through Vienna with dances by Schubert and with Godowsky's Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes from Fledermaus. Experience the magic of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and indulge in the romance of old-world Spain in Liszt's Rhapsodie Espagnole. Other works include Rachmaninoff's songs, Lilacs and Daisies, Bach's E-major Partita for Violin, and a piano sonata from award-wining American composer Lowell Lieberman all via the the sound of a Steinway concert grand from Summit Pianos.
The concert will be in the Sanctuary at Signal Mountain Presbyterian, 612 James Blvd. There will be free admission and free childcare. A reception follows the concert.
Mr. DuRoy is a doctoral candidate at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In addition to his post as organist/assistant director of music at Signal Mountain Presbyterian, Dr. DuRoy holds adjunct positions at Bryan College, Chattanooga State, and Lee University.
