Evelyn Michael Baxter, 86, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., died Friday, March 30, 2012 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Sally" Baxter; and brothers, J.M., Frank, and A Michael.
Ms. Baxter was born October 13, 1925 in Whitfield County and was the daughter of John Manson and Vinnie Michael. She was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Butch Middleton of Tunnel Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Baxter of Rocky Face; a sister, Martha Edna Ridley of Rocky Face; brothers and sisters-in-law, Oscar and Betty Lynn Michael of Rocky Face, and Willard and Barbara Michael of Baton Rouge, La.; sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Michael and Doris Masters; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Davis and Eloise Baxter; grandchildren, Todd and Haley Middleton, Wendy and Bryon Bennett, Tara and Les Hudson, Matt and Elizabeth Baxter, and Jamey and Erin Middleton; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Brady, Sydney, Sami, Grant, Molly, Harrison, Avery, Titus, Cooper, Kate and Dylen; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Baxter will be held Tuesday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Michael, Rev. Matt Baxter and Rev. Van Smith officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home Monday, April 2, from 5-9 p.m.
