Police said an officer fired three shots at a man who was apparently catering a high-stakes poker game after the man pointed a gun at him.
The shooting incident happened just after police announced their presence at 9:50 p.m. at 1618 Gunbarrel Rd, Suite 103, ATC Healthcare.
After officers made entry into the building, 32-year-old Clifford Billups ran out of the back door. Investigator John Patterson was covering the rear door when Billups came out.
Police said Investigator Patterson gave verbal commands to Billups. Billups then pointed a handgun at the officer, who fired three rounds at Billups with one round hitting him in the right side.
Billups was transported to Erlanger Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
He was released from Erlanger and transported to the Hamilton County Jail, where he was booked for attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and felony reckless endangerment.
Charges were also filed against those taking part in the poker game.
