Chattanooga State softball ended a week of six conference games going undefeated, led by an Ashley Czechner no-hitter in a 8-0 five inning game vs. Jackson State followed by a 6-0 shutout win thrown by Janna Scheff.

In winning her 26th game of the season, Czechner struck out nine as the Tigers used 11 hits, including a game leadoff homerun by Marina Wilkerson.  Chattanooga State scored three in the 1st inning and two more in the 2nd.  Andrea Dalton was 3-for-3, driving in a run in the 1st.  Lacye Walker had two doubles and scored two runs in the game.

In winning the second game, the Tigers increased their overall record to 49-3 and conference mark to 14-0.  Wilkerson added another homerun, giving her 11 on the year and she was joined by cleanup hitter Chelsea Burgess who homered for the 9th time this season.  Burgess collected three hits in the game while, Walker, Shelby Johnson and Dalton each had two.  It also was Scheff’s 20 win of the season.

“This has been a short long week with playing six conference games,” said Head Coach Beth Keylon-Randolph.  “We have four conference games remaining and then the Region VII Tournament.”

Weather allowing, Chattanooga State is scheduled to play a conference doubleheader this Tuesday vs. Walters State at home in Tiger Softball Stadium.  The first pitch is set for 2 p.m.  Admission is free.
