April is National Donate Life Month in Tennessee.
According to Hamilton County Clerk Bill Knowles, “The Tennessee County Clerk Organ Donor Awareness Foundation through donations made by motorist’s through-out Tennessee has a vital part in this program. Local vehicle registrants contributed more than $2,300 last month to the awareness program. This donation amount topped clerk offices across the state in March. In 2011 the Hamilton County Clerk’s office collected $30,253. This was a part of the $298,223 grand total given through the 95 county clerk offices across Tennessee.”
“I commend Tennessee motorists for their generosity. More than $10 million has been donated since the Clerk’s program began in 1996. This is a great boost to the Organ Donor Foundation’s effort to educate the public of the great need for organ and tissue donations.
Mr. Knowles is a founding director of the County Clerk’s Awareness Foundation.
