Boating Safety Class Set For May 5

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 16-07 Chattanooga, will provide a Boating Safely Class on Saturday, May 5. The class will be held at the US Coast Guard Station in Chattanooga at 3551 Old Harrison Pike.

The class starts at 8 a.m. and lasts until 4:30 or 5 p.m.  Seating is limited and preregistration is required. The cost of the class is $30 per person which includes class book and lunch. Any Tennessee resident born after Jan. 1, 1989 must show the TWRA-issued wallet Boating Safety Education Certificate as proof of successful completion of the course.

Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Man Who Is On Tennessee Sex Offender Registry

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
