MidTown Council Promotes Commercial Development With Valuable Investment Property Showcase Wednesday

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s MidTown Council will promote vacant commercial property located between the south side of Missionary Ridge and Brainerd Road through its first annual Valuable Investment Property (VIP) Showcase on Wednesday.

Members of the MidTown Council established the VIP Showcase to encourage the purchase of vacant commercial properties located within its footprint, which covers the area between the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and the Chattanooga Zoo. The event will feature 10 or more exhibit booths displaying sites that present viable investment opportunities, as well as an overview of each site via an ongoing slideshow presentation. Realtors and property owners will be on hand to provide additional information at each exhibit booth.

City Councilwoman Carol Berz and County Commissioner Tim Boyd will open the event with a presentation on the area’s demographics, commercial demand trends and recent economic development activity. Following the discussion, David Barlew Jr., architect at David Barlew Architects, Inc., will display renderings that feature ways buildings similar to those being exhibited might be improved.

“We are extremely excited to showcase available properties along Brainerd Road,” said Velma Wilson, former MidTown Council president and CEO of Cleaning Solutions, LLC. “MidTown is a great place to live, work and play, and we hope this event will attract new businesses to the area.”
