Erlanger at Hutcheson announces the addition of Paul Ballinger, Pa-C as primary medical provider at the Chickamauga Family Practice clinic as of April 2.

 

Paul Ballinger is well-known to the North Georgia medical community, having served this area for over 30 years. In addition, he served as a Battalion Physician Assistant and was deployed twice to Asia, once to support Dessert Storm and again for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He received Bronze Star Medals during both deployments and retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the military in September 2008.

 

Roger Forgey, Erlanger at Hutcheson’s new president and CEO, worked directly with Mr. Ballenger while they were both in the military.  “As a nurse practitioner, I had the pleasure of running a clinic with Paul for a few years.  He is an exceptional clinician and an overall great guy.  He’ll be a very welcome addition to the Erlanger at Hutcheson family,” said Mr. Forgey.

 

Mr. Ballenger looks forward to seeing existing clinic patients and welcoming new ones.  He will also see walk-in patients for increased patient convenience.  Chickamauga Family Practice is at 230 Lafayette Road, Chickamauga, Ga. 30707. Parkridge Health System Raises Over $4,700 For Tour de Cure

Parkridge Health System cyclists raised over $4,700 in support of the fight against diabetes for the 2013 Tour de Cure cycling event held at First Tennessee Pavilion.  Team Parkridge fielded riders at nearly every distance level of the event, including the 100 mile, 62 mile, and 25 mile routes. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
