Singer and former North Georgia TV personality Johnnie Sue returns to RFD-TV on April 9.

Producers invited her back to appear for her second season after positive audience response for her guest performance in 2010, she said.

“I felt very honored to be asked back,” she said.

She traveled this winter to the Nashville to perform on the General Jackson where this season of “The Shotgun Red Variety Show” was taped.

“The show was taped on the stage of the showboat,” she said. “I worked with several Nashville musicians who backed me on the show who played with folks like Roy Orbison, Boots Randolph and Jack Greene.”

Sue said she performed a medley of classic country songs for her performance.

She previously received national attention on “You Can Be a Star” when she appeared on the Nashville Network where TNN entertainer Steve Hall helped Shotgun Red become a household name as part of “Nashville Now.”

Now in her 31st year of entertaining, she makes her home in Rocky Face, Ga.

The Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame member’s music is included in the Library of Congress among the local legacy collection, she said.

She was added to the nomination list for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

"The Shotgun Red Variety Show” is expected to air on RFD-TV, April 9 at 7 p.m. featuring Chattanooga area performer Johnnie Sue. It will re-air Tuesday, April 10 at 9 a.m. and Sunday, April 15 at 1 p.m.

She currently has two CDs available “Johnnie Sue Sings Country” and “Johnnie Sue Sings Gospel.” For more information, e-mail granniejohn@yahoo.com.
