Catering To The Boys Choir Fundraiser Is April 26

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Celebrating its 57th anniversary, the Chattanooga Boys Choir (CBC) is still inspiring and positively influencing the lives of young boys in the Greater Chattanooga Area in the name of the Arts: vocal music.  The 150 boys in 5 different choirs, from 3rd grade to high school, are powerful in numbers and song.

In order to keep the Chattanooga Boys Choir engaged in song, performance and tours, the parents of many of the boys began the Catering to the Boys Choir & Silent Auction Scholarship Fundraiser Event.  The event features local caterers and a silent auction.  The proceeds from Catering to the Boys Choirbenefit the CBC Scholarship Fund which assists choristers with a financial need who would otherwise be unable to participate. Last year was the most successful yet, raising enough money to provide scholarships for seventeen choristers – that’s 13% of the total choir. The Scholarship Fund was able to provide scholarships to every chorister who applied.

This year's Catering to the Boys Choir Event will be held at The Mill (1601 Gulf Street) in the Southside neighborhood of Chattanooga on Thursday, April 26 from 5:30-8 p.m., with WRCB Channel 3 Latrice Currie as the Master of Ceremonies and THE YES SIDE OF MAYBE as entertainment. Latrice Currie is a parent of a current chorister and THE YES SIDE OF MAYBE is a band composed of second generation alumni brothers.  Guests will enjoy a complete meal featuring some of Chattanooga’s finest caterers:  A Silverware Affair, Alice Morgan Catering, Jackson Bakery, Cakes by Mac, Chef Jernard Catering, Coca Cola, Events with Taste, Forbidden City, Genghis Grill, GiGi’s Cupcakes, Julie Darlings Donuts, Taco Mamacitas, Golly Whoppers, Max Life Coffee Systems, Moss’s Place Catering, Neidlov’s, Southern Star, Tony’s Pasta Shop, and the Walden Club as well as a silent auction of charitable donations from many local businesses.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door on the night of the event.  Call the CBC office at 634-2299 for more information.
