Hunter Museum Chief Curator Ellen Simak and Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Music Director Emeritus Bob Bernhardt will lead an exploration of the works of artist Charles Burchfield and composer Charles Ives at Hunter Happens on Thursday.
Mr. Burchfield, born in Ohio in 1893, focused on landscapes throughout his career and felt a powerful bond with nature and the land. Mr. Ives, born in 1874, is among the most representative of American artists and unified the voice of the American people with the forms and traditions of European classical music.
Come and hear the talk at 6 p.m. and still have time to make the "From the Top" performance at the Tivoli at 7:30 p.m.
The program is included with regular museum admission and is free for Hunter members.
