Investigators for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office developed suspect information and have cleared 11 thefts, working with residents near Keith Valley Road on recent car burglaries.
Deputies investigating burglaries to unsecured cars in the area of Keith Valley Road, Will Lewis Drive and Valley View Road, canvassed those neighborhoods and learned an individual had been observed on foot in those areas. One resident was able to provide investigators with the name of the individual.
When detectives went to the home of Michael Basham, 24, at 1323 Keith Valley Road, they were given consent to search and found almost all of the stolen property.
Losses reported to the sheriff’s office consisted of two radar detectors, a small amount of change, a camera, stereo system, and an electronic diagnostic instrument valued at $600.
Basham is charged with 11 counts of burglary of a vehicle, one count of theft over $500, and 10 counts of theft under $500.
Bond has been set at $25,000 and Basham is due back in court on May 1.
Anyone in the area of Keith Valley Road who recently had items stolen from a vehicle and the loss has not been reported to the sheriff’s office, is asked to contact the criminal investigations division at 728-7337. Investigators may have stolen property.
