Teens and their families are invited to attend the Chattanooga ACTSO Networking Workshop on Saturday at the EPB Building, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The cost of $25 includes materials, refreshments, copies of the book Talk Tips by Vincent Phipps, emailed documents and facilitation. Vincent Phipps will serve as the workshop facilitator.
Chattanooga ACTSO is presenting this opportunity for area youth to acquire skills and be exposed to strategies that successful business people and artists use to increase customers and build their fan base.
The workshop includes time to practice introductions and breaking the ice in professional situations. Strategies cover tips on presenting oneself on a national platform, performing before large audiences and preparation for upcoming ACTSO competitions. It will also illuminate the difference between local and national ACTSO competitions.
Chattanooga ACTSO’S Workshop is an opportunity that will prepare youth for the challenges they face in continuing their education at the college level and becoming successful leaders in their chosen careers, officials said.
Funds generated from the workshop will help finance local competitors’ expenses on the trip to ACTSO Nationals in Houston, Texas this July.
