Here we go again, Erlanger Hospital is playing the blame game for pervasive mismanagement. The management team has recommended the consultant cure to defray responsibility for a $17 million deficit, or another Ritz Carlton cure.
About six years ago, the Department of Justice fined Erlanger Hospital $40 million. Let me repeat - $40 million left our community for fines for unlawful activity conducted under the watchful eye of third-tier management, that is now first-tier management.
Yes sir, they promoted them.
To those that would suggest that was a long time ago and we should just forget, no thanks. For me, it is a matter of lack of public confidence in Erlanger Hospital’s management.
Erlanger Hospital is now red lining to the tune of $17 million, and this same management team wants to bring in consultants to rescue the hospital’s bond rating and debt service loans. This is the same management team that called in the Ritz Carlton Hotel consultants to teach patient hospitality. The Ritz Carlton Hospitality training worked out well - the physicians are leaving.
We need this trauma center, hire some people that know how to run a hospital.
