Ooltewah High School's McClain twins are excelling in track and baseball as juniors.
Hunter McClain came in 9th in the 400M at the Volunteer Classic with an official time of 51.54 seconds.
The meet was attended by over 100 of the best high school 400M runners from multiple states including Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and Ohio.
Hunter won his heat by more than 2.5 seconds. However, his time fell short of his best time of 50.
25 seconds and was 2/100ths of a second short of qualifying for the final heat of eight runners.
Jackson McClain, a 6'4", 225-pound left-handed pitcher, has been invited to the Stanford Baseball Prospect Camp in Palo Alto, Calif., in late June.
He is 4-0 for the Owls with a 1.96 ERA. He allowed only three singles and one run over seven innings in his last win against Chattanooga Central. He has pitched for the Owls varsity baseball team since his sophmore year.
He is also the Owls center on the football team and is a National Honor and Merit Scholar with a 4.0 GPA.
