Thelma Lucindia Dover, 83, of Trion, died on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Dover was born in Walker County, Ga., on March 11, 1929, daughter of the late Luther Albert Smith and Annie Mae Brown Smith. She was a member of the Welcome Hill Baptist Church and prior to retirement, worked as an Inspector with Mt. Vernon Mills.
Mrs. Dover was preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Dover; son, Jimmy Leon Smith; brothers, Albert Andrew Smith and John Franklin Smith; and a sister, Lena Lea.
Mrs. Dover is survived by a son, James Lamar Dover; daughters, Brenda Joyce Dover and Mary Ann Shuler; brother, Joe Smith; sisters, Tina Shaffer, Faye Smith, Mary Wright, Josie Nichols and Imogene Arnold; four grandchildren, James Lamar Dover, Jr., Kristina Elliott, Megan Hurt and Victoria Shuler; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dover will be held on Saturday, April 28, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Reverend Rickey Studdard officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Josh Dover, Keith Smith, Ken Scott, Johnny Wright and Dillon Smith.
Mrs. Dover will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
