The second annual Run for Ringgold 5k/walk and fun-run is on track for Saturday in Ringgold. One year and one day after the devastating tornadoes of April 27, 2011, the Run for Ringgold will follow a route though areas that were greatly impacted by the storms.
The course will start and finish in front of Ringgold High School. Participants will get a first-hand look at the progress the community has made, as well as the work still to be done, as they are let through the Ringgold community. Those interested can register at
Active.com. Packet pick up begins at 6:30 a.m., and the run begins at 8 a.m.
The co-founders of the Run for Ringgold are Judy King and Dr. Lisa Logan. Proceeds from the event will go towards children’s organizations in Ringgold that were damaged by the April 27, 2011 tornadoes. The race is funded by corporate sponsors as well as private citizens.
