Arlene Catherine Miller McGriff, 94, of Cleveland, Tn., died on Thursday morning, April 26, 2012 in a local health care facility.
Arlene was a member of The Church of God in Cleveland; and was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. McGrif;, her father, Evert Miller; her mother, Mamie Grace Hill Miller; brother, Evert Miller; sisters, Ruth Miller Huckaby and Evelyn Miller Briscoe; and a son-in-law, Leonard Roll.
Arlene and her husband, Wayne, moved to Cleveland to retire and at that time became house parents for 15 children in the Tomlinson Home for Children. She enjoyed reading, oil painting, crafts and travelling.
She is survived by: one daughter, Gloria Veota Roll of Cleveland; three sons, Wayne Evert McGriff and his wife Zola of Texas, Clinton Edwin McGriff and his wife Maurine of Texas, Melvin Clifford McGriff and his wife Joyce of Cleveland; one brother, J.B. Miller of Texas; one sister, Agnes Miller Gunn of Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30 at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Harvey Anders and Reverend David Risch officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29 from 5-8 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, North Ocoee Chapel who is in charge of the arrangements.
