Ronald Franklin Green, 73, of Ringgold, died on Thursday, April 26, 2012.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ringgold area and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time on his porch swing and was always putting others needs before his own. He retired from Catoosa County Road Department in 2002 after more than 42 years of service and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Martha Lou Green; sister, Mary Evelyn James and brother, Ralph Green.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 52 years, Connie Green; sons, Terry and Gary Green; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry & (John) Ellish, all of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and (Juanita) Green of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Bryson, Betty and (Jim) Rivers, Linda and (Lamar) Hixon, Judy and (Wendal) Babb and Jewel and (Lamar) Silvey all of Ringgold; two grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon Ellish; great-granddaughter, Kirsten Beard and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Sunday, April 29, in the Anderson Memorial Gardens with Brother Wendal Babb officiating.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. until leaving for the cemetery on Sunday.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and staff of Hutcheson Hospice for their care and concern for Mr. Green in the last few weeks.
