Norma Freudenberg Is Top Volunteer For 2012 At St. Barnabas Nursing Home

Norma Freudenberg, who became a resident of St. Barnabas Nursing Home on April 27, 2007, has been named the recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year award for 2012”. 

She plays for the Sunday and Tuesday services at the nursing home and hosts a “Sing Along with Norma” on Thursday afternoon. 

Mrs. Freudenberg received her first piano lesson at the age of seven.  She plays three instruments.  Mrs. Freudenberg has played the piano for over 80 years.  She played piano and violin while a member for nearly 40 years at First Church of the Nazarene.

She played for the Nazarene Hour radio program on WDOD in the 1950s.  Mrs. Freudenberg served as the Calvary Bible Church organist for 20 years before becoming a resident at St.

Barnabas.

St. Barnabas Nursing home Chaplain Rev. Buckley Robbins said, “Mrs. Freudenberg can play any hymn in the hymn book and complements our worship services. The residents just love her.” 

He added, “Mrs. Freudenberg is very deserving of this award.” 

Mrs. Freudenberg has two sons, Earl and Eddie, and a grandson Mark and granddaughter Amy.  She has two great-granddaughters, Rachel and Juliana.


Weight Limit On Standifer Gap Road Bridge Over Friars Branch Decreased To 6 Tons

Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
