William Robert “Bill” Wirchball, 84, died on Sunday, April 29, 2012.

He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and served his country in the United States Navy and reserves for forty two years. He faithfully attended Cooper Heights Church of God where he had served as clerk for over twenty three years as well as Sunday School teacher to many children whom he loved.

He also was a Boy Scout leader and beloved grandfather, Paw-Paw, or Uncle Bill to many.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Verna Mae and Jim Bell; two brothers, Edmond Wirchball, Alfred Wirchball.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Oliver Wirchball, three daughters and son-in-law, Judy Wirchball of Fort Oglethorpe, Betty Ann Edwards of Chickamauga, Carman and Carl Neblett of Ooltewah, son, William Wirchball of Chickamauga; two sisters and brother-in-law Emma Bell Wirchball, Lillie B. and Clifford Forrest; seven grandchildren, Carrie Clark, Chuck Clark, Robert Webster, Dakota Webster, Jason Wyatt, Shanna Wyatt, Brooke Wirchball, Carmelia Pulido, Jason Pulido, Ashley Neblett, Tamara Wirchball; nine grandchildren, Landon Cordell, Kade Clark, Dagon Clark, Maggie Webster, Robert Webster, Jr., Huck Wyatt, Alyssa Thompson, Bryce Thompson and Bryce Hunter.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, and 12:30-1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, at Cooper Heights Church of God.

The Reverend Kenneth Oliver will conduct the service at 1 p.m. at the church.
