Funeral Service Will Be Tuesday For Smith Elementary Student Who Died In Jet Ski Accident

Funeral services will be Tuesday for Collin K. Dowler, the 11-year-old Wallace A. Smith Elementary fifth grader who died in a jet ski accident in Alabama last  Tuesday. His older brother was injured in the accident.

Family members said Collin was active in football, basketball, golf and cross country. He loved spending time on the lake and enjoyed fishing and swimming.

His parents are David and Ann Dowler, and his brother is Dillon Dowler, a student at Ooltewah High School.

His maternal grandfather is Charlie H. Armstrong, of Chattanooga, and his paternal grandparents are Gary and Gerry Dowler, of Centre, Ala.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Fred R. Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Monday at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, Valley View Chapel, 7414 Old Lee Highway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wallace A. Smith Elementary, Ooltewah Youth Association or the Ooltewah High School wrestling program.
