Tuesday, May 01, 2012 - by B.B. Branton

In a battle of unbeaten A-AA boys’ tennis teams, defending region champion Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS) defeated visiting Chattanooga Christian, 9-0, Monday at Warner Park.

At No.1 singles, senior Jackson Lenoir (CSAS) won the last three games for a come-from-behind win against freshman Barrett Schock, 8-6.

CCS (10-1) was without its No.1 (Stewart Fellers) and No.3 (Matthew Day) players who were suspended for the match as well as the No.4 player Austin Mays who sat out due to an injury.

CSAS improved to 14-0 and faces Hixson today at 4:30 p.m. at the Racquet Club in a non-district match.

In the girls’ match, CSAS improved to 5-8 with an 8-1 win against CCS.

“I decided to play my junior varsity girls today to give them some experience in a varsity match,” said CCS coach Renato Mizutani.

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here.
