James “Jim” Clark Griffin, 76, of Hixson, died on Sunday, April 29, 2012.

Jim was born in Little Rock, Ark., lived in Toledo, Ohio for over 30 years where he retired after 45 years of service from Kroger as a meat cutter. He then moved to Chattanooga in 1996 and was of the Baptist faith. Jim was an honorary member of the East Ridge Cloggers and loved western movies. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Clark Griffin and Pauline Goodnight.

Jim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Hilda Griffin; children, Cindi (Mike) Curtis, Fred Griffin, Eddie Jordan and David (Tammy) Jordan; grandchildren, Shannon and James Curtis, Austin Griffin, Hillary Jordan, Jessie Summerfield and Jacob Black; stepmom, Rosa Milburn; siblings, Vance Griffin, Richard Griffin, Everett Griffin, Jeff (Teresa) Griffin and Sue Smith; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, at the North Chapel.

A Celebration of Life service for Jim will follow at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of the Hamill Road Dialysis Clinic for their love and excellent care given to Jim. 

The family has asked in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
