Albert “Lee” Gill, Jr. died on April 30, 2012. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vonie Heath Gill, father, Albert Lee Gill, and his brother, Don Melvin Gill.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Gill, his daughters, Michelle Gray (David) of Roswell, Ga., Melanie Gill of Ringgold, his son, Joshua Gill, of Auburn, Alabama, three stepdaughters, Danelle Filip (Jon) of Columbus, Ga., Cynthia Horton (Chris) of Dayton, Tn., and Heather Malone (Marty) of Hixson. He was the proud grandfather of 12 wonderful grandchildren who all very much adored their Papa Lee.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971 in Vietnam where he received the Naval Achievement Award, V for Valor. He was a devoted member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga serving in many capacities including financial chairperson, adult Sunday School teacher, and softball coach.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Oakwood Baptist Building Fund, 4501 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Oakwood Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Clark officiating.  Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
