Renee Yvonne Turney Arnold, 51, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Saturday, April 28, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.  

Renee was born January 31, 1961 to Barbara Jean Turney and the late George F. Turney, Sr., in Chattanooga. 

Renee graduated from Howard High School in 1979 and attended Chattanooga State Community College. She worked at McKee Food’s in Collegedale, Tennessee and was a member of Orchard Knob Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

Renee was preceded in death by her father, George F. Turney, Sr.; brother, Thaddeus Lewis; and grandmother, Cleo Lewis.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Arnold, Sr.; son, Gregory Arnold, Jr.; daughter, Kenji Arnold, mother, Barbara Jean Turney; three brothers, George (Rosetta) Turney, Jr., Robert (Saundra) Turney, Sr. and Emanuel (Anita) Turney; one sister, Barbara Atkins; mother-in-law, Mary Austin; sister-in-law, Vanessa Ross; brother-in-law, Steve Austin, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, at noon at Orchard Knob Baptist Church with Reverend Harold K. Lester officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, May 3, with the family receiving friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
