Jimmy LeRoy Swafford, 65, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in a local health care facility.
He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from U.S. Pipe as a welder. He was of the Baptist faith and was also a mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Melissa Swafford; wife, Louise Fay Swafford.
Survivors include four sons, Terrance (Tonga) Swafford, James (Heather) Swafford both of East Ridge, Vinson (Lowanna) Swafford of Colorado Springs, Co., and Scottie (Teri) Swafford of Hixson; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maggie Tatum of Victoria, Tn., and Margie Havis of Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 4, at noon in the chapel with Pastor Junior Bridgeman as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
