212 Market Restaurant will host the official launch party on May 22, for two new Sequatchie Cove Creamery cheeses, Dancing Fern and 2012 Coppinger washed rind cheeses. Cheesemaker Nathan Arnold will be on hand to answer questions, and cheese will be available for tasting.
Padgett Arnold, Sequatchie Cove’s Marketing manager said, "There has been so much anticipation around these cheeses! Dancing Fern has just been experimental in the past, but 2012 is going to be its year to shine - inspired by the French Reblochon, it is a rare style for domestic cheeses, especially for the Southeast. It resembles Brie in size and format, but the texture and flavor of Dancing Fern is simply more interesting and full of depth. It is rare to find a raw milk cheese of this particular character in the US.“
“Coppinger is a perennial favorite,” Ms. Arnold said, “so we are very excited to have a fresh supply to release for 2012. This 'washed rind' style will be produced in larger quantity than any other cheese at Sequatchie Cove this year. Many are familiar with Coppinger's amazing, unique flavor and supple texture, and we hope to continue expanding its availability and following nationwide."
The launch party will take place at 212 Market Restaurant from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on May 22, is open to everyone, and is free of charge. Musicians Pete Boubel and Eric Young will provide live jazz, and wines by the glass will be available at half price.
