With a 4-0 victory over Cleveland on Thursday night, Ooltewah earned the District 5-AAA soccer championship, and the right to host a Region 3 semifinal on Tuesday.
The host Owls, the No. 1 seed in district play, took a 1-0 lead into halftime, then scored three times in the second period. Jacob Ray, Trey Tucker, Felipe Munoz and Leudy Franco had the scores for Ooltewah, while Franco, Ray and Arnold Monterroso contributed assists.
Ooltewah outshot the Blue Raiders 12-6, and Hunter Rozzell made four saves in earning the shutout. The Owls, ranked second in the state's class AAA poll, improved to 17-1-0 on the season. They will host Coffee County in a Region 3 semifinal Tuesday at 7. Cleveland (9-10-1) will travel to face Cookeville.
