Stephen "Steve" Dale Langston, 64, of East Brainerd, died on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his home.

Steve was born and raised in Trion, Ga., and was the 16th child of J.C. and Bessie Langston.

Steve spent most of his working years as a sales representative for Walter A. Wood Supply Co. and TEAM Industrial Services.  A  talented musician and songwriter, Steve played for many years in numerous bands and a variety of venues throughout the Chattanooga area.

He was  an avid golfer and also a BMW car enthusiast.  His humor and fun-loving personality brought laughter and joy to the lives of many.

Steve’s love for his beautiful wife, Carol, taught us all what real love is about.

In addition to his parents, Steve was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Ralph, Andy, ”Tubby” and David Langston; sisters, Joyce Mitchell, Ruth and Jenny Langston; father-in-law, Charles Wilson.

Survivors are his wife, Carol; children, Steven (Boots) Langston, Jason (Sarah) Langston, Zane Langston, Elizabeth (Steven) Pierce and Marcus Langston; brothers, Charles (Iris) Langston,  Joe Langston, George “Jeep” (Linda) Langston, Larry (Margaret) Langston; sisters, Sibyl Shields, Nell (Glenn) Thomas and Ruby Eller;  Brother-in-law, Mark (Lisa) Wilson; sisters-in-law, Susan (Kevin) McKeown,  Janet (Joe) Walker and Brenda (Ryan) Goodwin; mother-in-law, Laurie Wilson; grandchildren, Madison, Adrianna, Stephen, Amelia, Rowan, Maddox, and Lily;  over 50 nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, at Tyner United Methodist Church with Reverend Charlie Harrison officiating. 

A family burial will be held in Trion, Ga., at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Tyner United Methodist Church or Walter Boehm Birth Defects Center.
