Dennis Maddux, 71, of Old Fort, Tn., died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the family residence. 

Mr. Maddux was the son of the late Lloyd and Lena Maddux; and was also preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Maddux, Ronald Maddux, Frank Maddux, Barbara James, Dorothy Murray and Shirley Lane. 

His lifelong hobby was raising Bantam show chickens from which he won numerous awards. He was a lifelong member and certified judge with the American Bantam Association. Mr. Maddux was very a active member of the Boanerges Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Maddux; his children and spouses, Deena and David Swafford, Shane and Paula Maddux, Dennis and Tina Maddux; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Sidney Maddux; one sister, Mary Jo Owens and her husband Ed; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held 8 p.m. Friday, May 11 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Charles Cheatham officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at the Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Shane Maddux, Dennis Maddux, Robert Banks, Glenn Banks, Nick Maddux and Jack Maddux serving as casketbearers. 

The family will receive friends Friday, May 11 from 5-8 p.m. at the North Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.


Heuser, Valetta Jean (Rock Spring)

Valetta Jean Heuser, 93, of Rock Spring, died on Monday, May 20, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Heuser was a charter member of Ft.
