Rick Lister

Richard Scott “Rick” Lister, 49, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

Rick was the general manager of Famous Dave’s BBQ restaurant where employees marveled at his energy and passion for helping others.

As a husband, son, father, brother, uncle and friend, Rick’s fun-loving nature brightened all of our lives and his contagious laughter brought joy to all who knew him. He loved God, his family, his friends and his church, and had a heart that was unmatched. He was sensitive to the needs of others and extremely dedicated.

Rick and his wife Leanne were best friends and together they laughed often at life, in addition to sharing the antics of their three miniature dachshunds, Bone Jovi, Nokie and Oliver. In recent years, Rick acquired a passion for fitness, often walking 10 miles per day. An avid football fan, fall weekends were Rick’s delight; cheering for the TN Vols and the NY Giants.

Even in his death, Rick blessed families as far away as California as an organ donor. Such was his nature and his gift.

Rick is survived by his wife, Leanne Prince Lister of Chattanooga, mother, Natalie Lister (Gary) Lawrence of Minor Hill, Tn., father, Gil Lister of Gallatin, Tn., mother-in-law, Elizabeth Prince of Chattanooga, stepson, JT Shull of Hermosa Beach, Ca., brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Tamara Lister of Franklin, Tn., Randy and Claudia Lister of Gallatin, Tn., and Becky and Ralph Jordan of Atlanta, and niece and nephews, Sagan, Mike, Chad and Seth Lister and Drew Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law John Prince.
