National Salvation Army Week Celebrated Next Week With Various Events

Celebrating a nationwide focus on The Salvation Army, the Chattanooga Salvation Army is planning several special events that are open to the public next week. These are:

Sunday -

Worship Services at all local Salvation Army Corps. Visit csarmy.org for times.

Tuesday -

The School of Culinary Arts Spring Graduation, 800 McCallie Ave., 11:30 a.m.

A light lunch, prepared by the Culinary School Graduates, will be served; they will also receive their graduation certificates and chef hats. Their success stories will be shared.
 

The School of Music and Arts Graduation Concert, 1019 N. Moore Road, 6:30 p.m. 

The Spring Semester students of grades three through 12 will perform the talents they have mastered.  Arts and crafts also on display.

Wednesday - 

Community Bible Study, 2180 East 28th

Street, 11:45 a.m.–12:45 p.m.

Bring your lunch and study the Word with us. 

Thursday - 

“Fashion for a Fraction,” Hamilton Place Mall, 6–9 p.m. 

A VIP Shopping Event. Special  pampering services by Sephora and Bath & Body Works for all coupon book holders. $5 Hamilton Place Coupon Books available. Snacks by The Salvation Army Culinary School. Proceeds benefit The Salvation Army Family Store. Hosted by WRCB’s Trends on Three Moderator, Ken Nicholson.

Saturday - 

Rock the Red Shield Free Concert at Coolidge Part, 1–8 p.m. 

Featuring: Day SevEn, Reva, Tabernacle Praise Band, Drown Out, Zero Doubt, Rhonda Frye & Riverside, As Isaac and Tabernacle Big Band – all at no charge.

Ladies’ Leisure Ride Is Sunday

The Ladies’ Leisure Ride is a slow-paced cruise through downtown Chattanooga, just for the ladies. Ride For Freedom Motorcycle Events Fights Human Trafficking

Second Life of Chattanooga and The Zion Project are partnering to host the Ride for Freedom, a motorcycle poker run on Saturday, June 1. Registration will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Thunder Creek Harley Davidson at 7720 Lee Highway. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
