Calfee, Carrie Goforth (Cleveland)

Carrie Goforth Calfee, 73, of Cleveland,Tn., died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at a Chattanooga Hospice facility. 

A homemaker and farmer, she lived in the Chilcutt community. Also known to her family as Grandma “Cookie”, she was a loving wife, mom and grandma. She is a member of the Bradley County Agricultural Hall of Fame. She was also a lifetime member of the Dairy Shrine Club and a member of the East Tennessee Historical Society. She was a member of the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy. She attended Polk County schools and graduated from Bradley Central High School. She was a director of the Bradley County Farm Bureau for over 25 years. 

She was the daughter of the late Mike Goforth and the late Elva Goforth Ponder; and was also preceded in death by one brother, M.J. Goforth. 

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Virgil Calfee; children, David & Leesa Calfee and Glenn & Delonda Calfee, Cleveland; Linda and Kevin Baird, Scottsburg, Ind.; grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie Calfee, Andy Calfee, and Michael and Jared Baird; sister-in-law, Betty Dean Goforth, Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. 

Her Remembrance of Life service will be held Tuesday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Brian Sutton and Henry Wyatt Officiating. Interment will follow at Hilcrest Cemetery in Serenity Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday, May 14 at Peerless Road Church and after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15 at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons Andy Calfee, Nick Calfee, Michael Baird and Jared Baird and nephews Stanton Goforth and Logan Breedlove, with Jack Kersey, Lee Breedlove and John Hayes serving as honorary pallbearers. 

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Chattanooga Hospice at Standifer Place for their kindness and care during her last days.

Williamson, Betty Faye (Copperhill)

Betty Faye Williamson, 54, of Copperhill, died on May 16, 2013.  She was born in Salisbury, N..,C and raised in Chattanooga. She worked at Animal Clinic East for 12 years and was a big animal lover. Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case.
