Ethel Della Adams, 76, of Chattanooga, died, with her loved ones by her side on Thursday, May 10, 2012.

Della was born on Jan. 16, 1936 in Chattanooga to Arlie and Muncie Pierce. From childhood to motherhood, she cared for her parents, siblings and worked neighborhood jobs to help support them. 

She also worked in retail as a store manager for Signal Knitting Mills Outlet until 1985. Her interest included dancing, sewing, crafting and flowers. She was very devoted to her family, spending much of her time and energy as a caregiver and homemaker. Della also loved watching Elvis movies, car racing, the Atlanta Braves and listening to classic country music. Her attributes of being a strong, tenacious and hardworking woman showed that she rarely let any challenge get her down.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Adams; son, Michael Adams; sister, Mildred Oldham, two brothers, Paul Pierce and Earnie Pierce.

Survivors include her longtime companion, Mason "Pete" Stanford; two sons, Charles Adams and Danny Adams; daughter, Linda (Roger) Wallisch; sister, Charlyne Anderson; granddaughter, Carrie (Eric) McGaffic; five grandsons, Bobby (Kristen) Adams, Greg (Casey) Wilson, Adam Stott, Zachary (Katlynn) Wallisch; Brent Stott; four great-grandsons, Caleb Hopkins, Logan Adams, Luke Adams and Mason McIntosh-Stott.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 14, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Randy Bell officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
