Betty Frances Mackie Stewart, 82, of Ringgold, died on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at her residence.
She was born June 13, 1929 in Chattanooga, but lived in the North Georgia area for more than 50 years.
She and her husband were charter members of the East Brainerd Church of God. She was retired from Woodbridge Foam Fabricating after more than 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Ida Mae Cobb Mackie; her husband, and soul-mate of 53 years, Lawence stewart; a son, Lawrence “Sonny” Stewart, Jr.; brothers, J. E. Mackie, C.B. Mackie and Thurman Mackie Jr., Thedford Mackie and Lloyd Joe Mackie; sisters, Vivian Wright and Juanita Lunsford.
She is survived by her son, Larry Stewart, Chattanooga; daughters, Carolyn Stewart Troupe and Mary Terrell; both of Chickamauga; her sisters, Ova Perry and Willie Poe, and brother, Alvin Mackie, all of Chattanooga; grandsons, Butch Perkins Gene Hinton, Blaine Hinton, Jarrod Troupe, and Jason Troupe, and granddaughters, Gayla Moon, Candy Crawford, and April Groce, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at Heritage Funeral Home with her pastor, Brother Harold Swaggerty Officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Fort Oglethorpe.
