Avid Tennis Fan Was Longtime Chattanooga Resident

Diane McCoy Trotter, 68, of Chattanooga, died, surrounded by her family, on Friday, May 11, 2012 from complications resulting from a life long battle with Diabetes.

She was born in Milledgeville, Ga., on July 15, 1943 and had lived in Chattanooga for the past 38 years. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother who always made an effort to put others before herself. She was a true Christian and of the Baptist faith. She was an avid tennis fan and for years held memberships in the Chattanooga Racquet Club and Manker Patten Tennis Club. One of her greatest joys in life was playing, watching and talking tennis. 

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Don Trotter, daughter, Terri Lynn Trotter and friend, Glenn Herald of Chattanooga, son, Duane Trotter and Lisa Hembree of Villa Rica, Ga., granddaughter, Grace Trotter, and grandsons, Henry Trotter of Chattanooga, Howie Trotter of Nashville, and Jack Trotter of Villa Rica, Ga., sister, Horacette McCoy Yost and Johnnie Yost of Milledgeville, Ga., sister-in-law, Nancy McCoy of Aiken, S.C. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Horace McCoy of Milledgeville, Ga., and mother, Inez Kitchens McCoy of Gibson, Ga., and brother, Randy McCoy of Atlanta. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 14, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road. 

With her stated wishes a private memorial will be held for the immediate family at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. or 37416, or to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, Va. 22311.
