Chattanooga Police, after finding the body of a black female on the porch of a house at 3016 12th Ave. late Sunday night, have charged a resident of the house with her murder.

Carlos Juan Harrison, 18, was taken into custody on charges of criminal homicide and tampering with evidence..

Police said the victim is a juvenile. It was first reported she was between 18-20. Her name has not been been given.

The body was found at 11:28 p.m. after police responded to a report of a dead female found sitting on the front porch.

Officers said the victim had obvious bruising on both sides of her neck and dried blood that appeared to come from her nose or mouth.

Police were first told by those at the house that the teen had come up earlier that night and asked for permission to sit on the porch. She was found dead about two hours later on the porch when residents went back outside, it was stated.

Police said when those at the house were told to go down to police headquarters to be interviewed, a woman advised that she wanted to tell the truth.

The woman, identified as the mother of Carlos Harrison, said he had brought the young girl home the night before.

Police said Carlos Harrison was interviewed again and he admitted bringing the girl home the night before and having sex with her before they went to sleep.

He admitted moving her body from his bedroom to the porch after he claimed to have found her unresponsive on the floor. He claimed she was unhurt when he moved her.

Police said other witnesses said Carlos Harrison called them into his room and showed them the victim lying face down on the floor unresponsive.
