Chuck Fleischmann receives the “ACU Conservative” award from American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas.
Congressman Chuck Fleischmann received the “ACU Conservative” award from the American Conservative Union. Considered the gold standard of lawmaker ratings, the “ACU Conservative” award is given only to those who receive scores of 80% or above in the American Conservative Union’s ratings of Congress. Rep. Fleischmann scored an 88%.
“I ran for Congress to represent commonsense conservative values, so I am pleased to see that the American Conservative Union has recognized my work. Whether it is fighting to reduce the size of government, protecting the unborn, or returning our nation to its founding Constitutional principles, I have practiced what I preach every day in Congress,” Rep. Fleischmann said.
“The ACU Conservative Award is a reflection of Rep. Chuck Fleischmann’s consistent support of conservative principles on a wide range of issues of concern to grassroots conservatives in 2011. At a time when the fundamental principles of the American system of government are being challenged, Representative Chuck Fleischmann stands with those who are trying to preserve those principles,” said American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas.
In addition to his rating from the American Conservative Union, Rep. Fleischmann has also received top ratings from other conservative groups. Rep. Fleischmann was tied for most conservative Tennessee House Member in the fiscally conservative Club for Growth 2011 scorecard, and he is rated the second most conservative lawmaker in the state by Heritage Action. Heritage Action is the political advocacy arm of the Heritage Foundation, a leading conservative think tank.
