Art Creations, a local retailer who has served area’s artists since 1987, has five summer art camps designed for children 6-14 years old. These camps are days spent using a wide variety of art media and making new friends, guided by a faculty of professional artist-teachers. Daily activities and lessons have been prepared for a wide variety of interests.
According to Sandra Paynter Washburn, director of Art Education, “Each children's summer camp at Art Creations has been designed by professional art educators to provide an authentic artistic experience for each child. The activities are art-based, not craft based, using top quality art materials, and taught by professional artists and art educators. The level of preparation will provide children an advantage when they attend art classes in school and are an excellent value for the money. We are confident the children will have a great time at Art Creations summer camp and want to come back year after year.”
Each art camp will run Monday-Friday, starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. There are two teachers per week and students are divided into age-appropriate groups: 6-9 years and 10-14 years. The price for each five-day, 35-hour camp is $225 ($195 plus $30 materials fee), with the following camps offered this summer:
June 4-8: Drawing and Color Camp
June 11-15: Girly Girls Camp
June 18-22: Young Artists Painting Camp
June 25-29: Cartooning and Mixed Media Characters
July 9-13: Painting and Mixed Media Camp
