Dorainda Raines, 82, died on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Life Care of Collegedale.

Born June 14, 1929 in Dunlap, Tn. to the late Lee and Bethel Blancett, Mrs. Raines was a resident of Lookout Valley and North Georgia before moving to Collegedale in 2007 after suffering from strokes.

She was a member of North Georgia Worship Center and for many years worked as a demo lady for Sam’s Club.

She was a beautiful person with a great big heart and smile who loved being with her family, friends and most of all she loved to witness for the Lord about His healing power and saving grace.  During her stay at Life Care her goal was to win souls for the Lord and tell of His love.  She was loved by her children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell lee Raines, Sr;  sons, Floyd and Jerry Raines; son-in-law, Larry Chapman; brother, Jesse Blancett, sisters, Susie LaPlaca and Mildred Mladek.

Survivors are her son, Terrell Lee (Louise) Raines Jr., Rossville; four daughters, Betty Chapman, Gail (Lamar) Moorman both of Chattanooga, Sharlene (Danny) Brogdon, Manchester and Carolyn (Ron) Scott, Crossville; two sisters, Louise Schanlaub, and Rita Renfro, both of East Ridge; 18 grandchildren,  22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17,  at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Eugene Butler and Reverend Nick Forshee officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, West with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Rogers, 20, Shot Twice While Standing On His Porch

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
