Joseph Brian Roth, Sr. died peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2012 surrounded by family.

Brian was born May 30, 1935 in Utica, N.Y., to Joseph Francis and Helen O’Hara Roth. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and it was on leave to be the best man at a wedding that he met the love of his life, Beverly Ann Skinner, who was the maid of honor.

In 54 years of marriage, he was the proud father of four children, Karen Roth Drancik, Joseph Brian Roth, Jr, Christine Ann Roth and Robin Roth Crook.

Brian graduated from Canisius College and built a career in the Spring Manufacturing business, where his gift for relationship building flourished first at Southern Precision Spring and later at Newcomb Spring of Tennessee, both of which he served as vice president of sales. Additionally, he received an appointment by N.C. governor to the state advisory council on vocational education.  Family was everything to him.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his sister, Ann Kulik, Karen’s husband, Michael Drancik and their children Timothy and Nicholas, Brian’s wife, Mirella and their boys, Christian and Alexander, Christine’s partner, Russ Hargraves, and Robin’s husband, Dr. Jay Crook and their children, Caroline, Cooper and Ethan.  Additional family survivors are Edward and Barbara Skinner Fersht, William Skinner, David Skinner and Fred Kulik, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ron and Donald, and sisters, Jean and Beverly.

Visitation will be held at Tuesday, May 15, from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral mass will be on Wednesday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Full military burial will be private.
