911 Table Top Exercise To Be Held Wednesday In Cleveland

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

The Tennessee Valley Regional Communications System (TVRCS) will be conducting a Table Top Exercise that will include personnel from the United States Department of Homeland Security, Office of Emergency Communications, and Interoperable Communications Technical Advisory Program. The exercise will be on Wednesday, at 9 a.m. at the Mountain View Inn, 2400 Executive Park Drive NW, Cleveland.

The exercise is focused on emergency communications and 911 Communications Centers operating on the Tennessee Valley Regional Communications System. The exercise will revolve around a hypothetical law enforcement incident that spreads from Knoxville, to Ringgold. Upwards of 15 local agencies will be participating, as well as several Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) offices, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC). This is a table top, discussion-based event. There will be no actual radio traffic associated with this event, nor any field action.

The drill will begin at 9 a.m. and last throughout the day.

Notably, this is perhaps the largest exercise involving 911 centers.

For additional information, prior to the event please call Jeff Carney at 423 697-0910.

Who's Driving The Bessie Smith Strut Into The Ground?

As the annual Riverbend Festival has come to a close I seem to be at odds with one particular thing and no it has nothing to do with seeing CeeLo’s rear-end. That one thing is the Bessie Smith Strut and the lack of what it used to be. It is just my opinion but there seems to be a driving force of setting the event up for failure and for what?    The event survived a ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Me & The Ficus Benjamina

I got back from my two-week vacation at the Mayo Clinic "spa" late Saturday night and spent most of the day in the bed yesterday, nursing my way through the latest round of infections. All day long I was pretty miserable and, as I am wont to do with things turn downwards, look for something funny to ease my pain and anguish. So the Lord reminded me of my famous bout ...
