2011-2012 Leadership Walker County Class Graduates During May Membership Luncheon

The 2011-2012 Leadership Walker County Class will graduate during the Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s May Membership Luncheon which will take place on Tuesday, May 22, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Walker County Civic Center.

Leadership Walker County is a nine-month program for business and civic individuals who are looking to increase their knowledge of the Walker County Community as well as make lasting contacts. The class begins annually in October with a retreat that focuses on getting to each other classmates as well as leadership development. The class then meets one day a month to tour different aspects that are important to the Walker County Community. Topics session included local government, state government, health care and social services, industry, economic development, tourism and education.

During the 2011-2012 year the class toured the Capitol in Atlanta, Mountain Cove Farms, the Martin-Davis House, Roper, the Jimmy Simpson Foundation, Walker County Sheriff’s Department, DFCS, Chickamauga City Schools, Walker County Schools, 911 Center, and Rock City among many others.

North Georgia YMCA, Camp New Dawn, the Battlefield Pilot Club and You-One Productions will have featured spotlight tables at the event. Attendees will be invited to visit these tables during registration and after the event. Spotlight table hosts will also be given two minutes each to describe their organization during the program.

Door prizes will be sponsored by Community National Bank, Walker County Farm Bureau and the Walker County Chamber of Commerce.

Attendees may begin arriving at 11:30am; the program will begin promptly at 11:50 a.m. The cost to attend is $15 per person for Chamber Members and $25 per person for non-Chamber Members. Registration includes a wonderful meal provided by No Small Affair

Those wishing to attend must register online; registration will end on Sunday at midnight prior to the event and no walk-ins will be accepted. Non-Chamber members are required to pay by Visa or MasterCard at the time of registration.
