Darrell Dean Davenport, 73, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, May 14, 2012.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Darrell was owner and operator of a very successful business, Federal Pest Control. He was a well-known respected businessman in the Chattanooga area and surrounding counties as well as in the East Brainerd community in which he lived. In his spare time you could find him at Brainerd Optimist Drag strip participating as a car owner/spectator for which Darrell took great pleasure in sharing his hobby with his family and friends.

Darrell is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Brenda Davenport, loving brother, Dick (Barbara ) Davenport, He will also be greatly missed by his children, Renee (Jimmy) Roberts, Ginger (Jason) Patterson, Brett McAllister and Dustin Davenport.                            

Darrell was affectionately referred to as Pop by his four grandchildren, Brittany Davenport, Bailey Davenport, Chandler Patterson and Houston Davenport. Darrell also is survived by several special nieces and nephews and a host of other close family and friends who will greatly miss his laughter, companionship and his overall joy of life.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Buddy Henry officiating.

Eileen L. Trippler, 95, of East Ridge, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Rogers, 20, Shot Twice While Standing On His Porch

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
