The Nightfall Concert Series continues its 24th year of great summer musical programming Friday with a headline show by Seven Handle Circus. The opening act is The Dismembered Tennesseans. These free shows are held each Friday on the River City Stage at Miller Plaza, from May 11-Sept. 7.
Formed in 2010, Seven Handle Circus are a six-piece Georgia band traveling across the land, pushing the limits of human endurance to send each crowd into a dancing and partying frenzy. They have been sharing stages with noteworthy bluegrass acts such Chatham County Line, Mountain Heart, Packway Handle Band and The Gourds, as well as platinum-selling rappers Yung Joc and T Pain, and were recently invited to play at The Fox Theater in Atlanta by Mumford & Sons, when the band just happened upon an acoustic set 7HC was playing at a restaurant next door to the historic theater. 7HC draws from their love of traditional bluegrass and folk and distills these influences into a modern sound that is all their own. With themes ranging from fun of drinking to the complexities of life, the Seven Handle Circus shares the beauty of the music they love, along with plenty of new surprises.
Presented and produced by Chattanooga Presents, Nightfall continues to bring an eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, world music, funk, bluegrass and folk music to downtown Chattanooga. Nightfall supports the local arts community by featuring Chattanooga musicians for each opening act, beginning at 7 p.m., followed by performances by national and international talent beginning at 8 p.m. Beer, wine, food and non-alcoholic drink concessions are available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed.
