Derek Rende Leading State Open Golf Championship

NASHVILLE -- Former Soddy-Daisy and Tennessee-Chattanooga standout Derek Rende took the first-round lead in the 64th annual SunTrust State Open Championship on Tuesday.

Playing at the Gaylor Springs Golf Links, Rende fired a 7-under 64 and has a three-shot lead over Jason Millard in the three-days tournament.
